La Fiscalía General del Estado lanza alerta a los usuarios de WhatsApp.

• . La iniciativa para preservar un entorno digital seguro, va a la par con la promoción de una cultura de la denuncia de posibles delitos cibernéticos.

Guanajuato, Gto., 11 de octubre de 2022.- La Fiscalía General del Estado alerta a la ciudadanía sobre la vulneración de la aplicación de WhatsApp, que permite a extraños acceder a la cuenta y cometer fraudes electrónicos. El exhorto para preservar un entorno digital seguro, va aparejado con la promoción de una cultura de la denuncia de posibles delitos cibernéticos.

La Fiscalía General del Estado, alerta a la ciudadanía en el uso la aplicación de mensajería denominada WhatsApp, al mismo tiempo, se hace un llamado a las personas afectadas por el robo de cuentas de WhatsApp, para que acudan a interponer la denuncia correspondiente ante el Ministerio Público con el fin de ampliar las investigaciones e identificar a los delincuentes cibernéticos.

Las víctimas, reciben un mensaje en el que se les indica que “alguien intenta abrir la aplicación desde un nuevo dispositivo”. Especialistas informáticos de la FGE, indican que esto sucede porque los delincuentes instalan la cuenta de WhatsApp en otro equipo e ingresan remotamente al buzón de voz de la víctima para robar dicho código o lo solicitan a la víctima haciéndose pasar por un conocido.

Ya con el código de acceso, el delincuente lo inserta en la aplicación y con esto se adueña de la cuenta para luego realizar la verificación en dos pasos con el objetivo de tener el control total de la misma.

Posteriormente, a través de esta cuenta ya vulnerada envían mensajes a los contactos de la víctima para decir que están en problemas económicos y piden prestado ya sea una sola suma o diversas cantidades, además de que proporcionan un número de cuenta para recibir la transferencia o depósito.

Ante esta situación, La Fiscalía General del Estado emitió las siguientes recomendaciones:

1. Comunicarse directamente con el contacto si te pide dinero de forma urgente a través de esta aplicación.

2. No hacer depósitos ni transferencias hasta verificar si el contacto realmente se encuentra en un apuro.

3. Nunca compartir el código de verificación con otras personas, aunque sea un familiar directo.

4. No abrir links o URLS sospechosos.

5. Si sospechas que alguien más está utilizando tu cuenta, informa a tus contactos para prevenir un posible delito.
